This is a hard video to make because I’m about to tell you that not all books are meant to be advertised.
Not all books are meant to be promoted in a paid marketing sort of way.
The reason they aren’t meant for that is because they are almost certain to lose money.
How do you know if your book is worth advertising, or promoting, or if it should be avoided like the plague?
Well, the answer is to do some quick testing with Amazon Ads.
You want to establish your baseline, in order to establish where your book is now.
What is your book converting at?
How many clicks does it take for someone to buy your book or pick up the book on Kindle Unlimited and read the whole thing?
Study the numbers.
You might see you spent 50 bucks.
But how much royalty income did you make on the sales? Was it only 30 bucks?
Well then this isn’t profitable.
There are things you can do to try to improve that conversion rate, but at some point you need to pull the pin and write it off as one that didn’t work.
But if you don’t know any of that, you don’t know if your book is a shoe-in for profit.
Until you establish your baseline, you don’t know if your book should be buried in a dumpster somewhere or put in front of everyone’s face.
You need to know if you spend $5, how much you make.
You need to know that because if you don’t know, it’s going to be impossible to effectively advertise.
