You may have noticed when you’re choosing your book’s categories in KDP, it looks like you can only pick two.
But after you publish your book or post your pre-order, you can actually appear in up to 10 categories on every marketplace.
This is the case in the US store, the UK store, and all other Amazon marketplaces.
And to do this, all you have to do is ask KDP.
They have a spot on the support page where you can email or call to get these 10 categories all set up for your book.
But how do you even know what categories your book is in in the first place?
Well, all Amazon pages used to have this information clearly displayed.
It used to be at the bottom of every page, but they took that away.
But the folks over at BKLNK (which can be found at www.bklnk.com) have a category finder that will accurately determine which categories your book is currently in.
Of course, this is great for figuring out which categories to target in an Amazon category ad.
But also you can use the category finder to look up what categories another book in your genre is in.
Then you can both ask KDP to add your book to these categories, as well as targeting them in your own category ads.
It’s another easy way to expand your reach and discoverability!
