You want to get the most out of every dollar you put into Amazon ads.
And from a financial standpoint, you want to make sure you’re advertising books that are profitable.
This of course you can test.
You want to try advertising books that are series starters, like a book one or a boxed set, that will lead readers into other books in the series.
This is called “read-through” and it means you’ll get more earnings from simply selling a copy of book one.
Which all makes sense.
But from a long term perspective, it’s also important to think about where you are spending that Amazon ad money.
Is it just going on a debit card that isn’t collecting any points, or are you using a credit card that you pay off every month that can get you extra perks?
There are multiple cards out there that will actually give you extra bonus points if you do advertising on them ,so you can get up to triple the reward points just from running ads.
There are cards for hotels and airline miles.
I am a Southwest Airlines credit card junkie, and every ad dollar I spend is going towards me being able to fly to a conference.
Or being able to fly home and visit my relatives, and so I know, yes, I’m getting the most by advertising my first in series books.
And at the same time, I am also booking airline flights from all of those ad spends.
