I know when you’re not necessarily selling a lot of books or making a ton of profit, it can be easy to become obsessed by the weird quirks of the Amazon ad dashboard.
I have heard people bemoan the fact that Amazon ads tracking is not so good.
So sometimes it will say you’ve sold two books from an ad when maybe you sold five or 10.
And so they get up in arms about that.
I’ve heard the other thing happen where the Amazon Ads dashboard shows a sale, and then you go back over to your KTP and there was no sale.
So folks wonder if there is something wrong with their books.
Or they see a day go by without any Kindle unlimited pages read and they think, “Is there something wrong with the system right now?”
And maybe there is, maybe there isn’t.
But I see too many authors dwelling on these issues when instead, they could be taking action.
They could be creating five to 10 new ads a week.
They could be writing a lead magnet that they can use on sites like Story Origin or Book Funnel in order to gather more readers.
They could be taking actions that would have a lot more bearing on their future success.
But too many authors spend their time worrying, complaining, and just being upset about these weird things that occasionally happen on the sales dashboard.
So instead of getting upset, don’t sweat the small stuff with Amazon ads.
Move on and take actions that are going to lead to profit for you in the future.
