I was bullied as a kid, in middle school and in high school, and of course I didn’t like it.
And that could have been motivation for me to take that on, to want to go bully other people below me.
To want to use that dark energy to be mean to other people.
To say, “Someone was mean to me, so I’m going to be mean to other people because that’s the only way to get ahead.”
But that’s not really how I roll.
Hasn’t been that way for a long time – but don’t get me wrong, you mess up from time to time.
You accidentally say something you shouldn’t have behind closed doors, behind someone’s back.
Fortunately, I’ve gotten most of that out of my system after the school years.
But I have found that even in our industry, you’ve got the mean people who would rather hate their way to the top.
And then when they’re making good cash, they do everything they can to inflict suffering to make sure other people to never ascend to their heights.
But I honestly believe that kindness is always going to win in that battle.
I’ve seen it with the people that I’ve connected with.
I’ve seen it with the people I love.
Kindness is always going to win and so don’t let yourself grow hard.
You’re going to hurt sometimes, but if you can emphasize kindness in your life, you are more likely to be successful.
